Dubrovnik

Intriguing visitors with it’s elusive charms, maze of old Venetian alleys and striking baroque citadel, Dubrovnik is one of those spots you simply don’t forget. Yet, though the city gets swamped with tourists each year, much of it’s authentic appeal remains unspoiled.

The terracotta-hued old town is scented with lemon trees beautifully juxtaposed by the views of the ultramarine seas, the small chapels bring back the atmosphere of times long-gone, the friendly locals are proud to share the rich history of this impressive town, while both the old-school tavernas and upscale restaurants serve food so delicious that you might want to lick your fingers afterwards.

Dubrovnik boasts an eclectic architectural mix - with majestic landmarks such as the gothic Rector’s Palace, baroque St. Blaise Church, and renaissance Sponza Palace all meters one from one another. When you’re done exploring the colorful heritage of this city, hop on your luxurious charter yacht to discover the translucent beaches that surround it - Banje is the most popular option because of the ravishing views of the citadel and Lokrum island, but a dozen others are minutes away. St Jakov, Betina Cave, and Sunset Beaches are its closest competitors.

Another reason to visit Dubrovnik is its particularly interesting location, right on the border of three states - Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, which lets you further explore the terrain. A quick excursion to Herceg Novi, Trebinje or Mostar will give you incredible insight into the colourful culture of this region, so contrasting that you’ll feel as if you’ve travelled the world in a single day.

Korcula

While Dubrovnik is probably the most famous Croatian destination, Korcula might be even prettier. A town within an island, the scenic Korcula has a history that dates back to mesolithic times, being populated ever since. According to legend, Korcula was founded by a Trojan hero in 12 century BC and has enchanting monuments from every era of its development. Any culture vulture will enjoy admiring the enchanting citadel, a visit to the Old Town or Revelin Tower, but the city is perhaps best known as the birthplace of Marco Polo, so an excursion to his house is a must. Thanks to this legendary sailor who brought pasta from Italy, the restaurants here serve the best pasta on Earth (sorry, Italians), a local variety called “makaruni” - a dish you will never forget. And don’t worry about the calories - you can burn all of them while swimming in one of the wonderful beaches nearby.

Split

The second-largest city in Croatia and the capital of the Dalmatian region offers much more than one can possibly see in one vacation, so it’s recommended you drop your anchor here for a few days. With plenty to see both on foot and at sea, Split is a superb blend of history, culture and marine beauty. First stop should definitely be the ancient, UNESCO- protected Diocletian’s palace, one of the best preserved monuments of Roman architecture in Europe. A walk through the authentic ancient streets of this citadel (although named “palace”, it resembles a citadel much more) will probably be one of the highlights of your luxury charter vacation.

Game of Thrones fans will recognize quite a few locations in Split, most notably the Klis Fortress, an ochre-hued castle from the middle ages. But incredible history is just part of what makes this city so impressive - the bustling art scene, lively nightlife and amazing restaurants also help. And if you want to see some awe-inspiring natural wonders, visit the cascading waterfalls at Krka national park.

Rijeka

The charming port city was a coveted strategic point for many empires, which is why it's a wonderful place to explore the various artistic directions of Europe - the turbulent events Rijeka went through have resulted in unmatched beauty that sets it apart from other Mediterranean destinations. On foot, we highly recommend you take a tour of the Croatian National Theatre, completely covered in frescoes by the legendary Gustav Klimt. For the best panoramic views, walk around the majestic Trsat castle that dominates the views of this encyclopedic city - sunsets seen from here are simplu something else. To recharge after a taxing walk, have a delicious ice cream in one of the vibrant cafes that surround the Old Tower, Rijeka’s most emblematic landmark.

But it’s more than the incredible art and architecture you’ll get to enjoy while mooring here - some of the best Croatian beaches are hidden here. During your luxury charter vacation, you can visit each corner of the emerald-hued Kvarner bay sprinkled with natural jewels such as Glavanovo beach. Kantrida, a complex of five pools by the sea with the loveliest vistas of Istria and numerous grottos that will tickle any speleology lover’s fantasy. As the Adriatic sea has one of the most indented coasts in Europe, diving here is really a treat for all the senses. Bursting with aquatic life, this seductive city is the perfect place to test out the water toys your luxury charter yacht is equipped with - bring an underwater camera to capture your next instagram posts!

Sibenik

A perfect starting point to explore the Kornati island, Sibenik is the oldest Croatian town on the Adriatic adored among the yachting community. While on land, you can marvel at the St Jacob Cathedral, a masterpiece that took a century to build, done almost like a patchwork of different architectural styles. With four fortresses to explore during your stay here, there’s plenty to do on foot, but the true adventure starts when you’re onboard your luxury charter yacht.

You might want to extend your stay in Sibenik, and with 140 uninhabited islands, reefs and islets of the Kornati archipelago, it’s not hard to see why. The most dense archipelago of the Adriatic will take your breath away with electric blue seas, dramatic cliffs and eerie scenery unlike anything you’ve seen so far. When hopping from one deserted oasis to another, you’ll come across the ghost-like monuments such as the Byzantine Tureta fortress and the Church of Our Lady of Tarac, a whitewashed chapel from the middle ages.

For many, the time spent in Kornati is the highlight of their yacht charter holiday. True paradise with rare bird species, endless blue horizons and pristine water to explore while snorkeling or diving, it is a true jewel of nature that leaves no one indifferent.

When you’re back in town, treat yourself to a delicious dinner at Pelegrini, a Michelin star restaurant with wonderful views of the chappel.

Montenegro

Although an entirely separate country, Montenegro is usually included in the itinerary of a luxury charter vacation in Croatia. The small Adriatic country only became independent in 2006 and quickly rose as one of the most popular yachting destinations in Europe. You’ll quickly understand why - dotted with dreamy towns, turquoise beaches and natural gems that can only be accessed by boat, this small Mediterranean country offers a lot for its size.

Still very authentic, Montenegro is home to numerous unexplored havens, such as the magical blue grotto - when you see photos online, you’ll probably think that the color was enhanced in Photoshop. On land, the Venetian town of Kotor will seduce you with striking architecture and well-preserved monuments such as the 12th century Cathedral of Saint Tryphon. Hop onboard your luxury charter yacht to visit the nearby island of Perast - a peculiar small oasis with an artificial islet that hides Our Lady of The Rocks, a bewitched chapel drenched in legends.

Saint Stefan is the gliteratti’s best-kept secret - this island has attracted superstars like Marilyn Monroe, Orson Welles, Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren, Princess Margaret, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, and Kirk Douglas. It’s often used as the destination for celebrity weddings, thanks to its secluded location and fairy-tale looks.

When it's time to do some shopping, moor in the swish Tivat Marina - Porto Montenegro, where you can do some retail therapy in boutiques with an artfully curated selection of the chicest brands, such as Prada, Dolce and Gabbana or Balenciaga. The recently-built resort has quickly gained traction among the jetset crowd, thanks to great shopping, luxurious spots, a glossy marina and swish restaurants - a dinner at Only One is a true spectacle for your tastebuds and a great way to end your luxury charter vacation with a bang.
